HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I hope all of you are having a spook-tacular Halloween. Yes I went there... again. Today I am dressed up as Alice (surprise surprise). I will post some pictures for you all on Tuesday. It has been great fun though. I went to Common Grounds and had Alice called out when my drink was ready, I was applauded by a random fellow Baylor student on my way to class, and I made a scene by walking into class a minute late carrying a big stuffed Cheshire Cat. Halloween is by far one of my favourite holidays, tied only with Christmas. It is just so fun and there is something about October that I cannot help but be in love with it.

Not too long ago Taylor and I had one the most exhilarating, yet terrifying photoshoots either of us had ever been on. There is this house in Cameron Park that I've been in love with since I first stumbled upon it my freshman year here at Baylor. Normally the gate is dead bolted shut and the house appears as if it has been laying dormant for years, however whenever we swung by there we found it in a very different condition.

I had mentioned that I wanted to shoot this outfit there because I thought it was very fitting for the overall feel I was trying to create, so thankfully Taylor was up for it and we made our way to the house. When we arrived the front gate was open and there appeared to be lights on in the house. Well one light really, and it was coming from the hall bathroom. Naturally, we knocked to ask permission, however after several minutes of knocking no one came to the door. We decided we would go ahead and do a quick shoot and ask for forgiveness in the event someone came to the door later on.

There is something about being on someone else's private property that is terrifying. Especially when their property looks like this. The entire time I was standing in front of the door I was afraid someone would open it and be a). furious that we were on their property or b). snatch me inside and turn me into a stew. Not to mention that when we rounded the corner of the house to take some pictures near the woods we heard what sounded like a small child screaming. It was terrifying.

If I look as if I am uncomfortable or scared for my life in any of these pictures it is because I most definitely was. We packed up as soon as we got all of the shots that we needed and nearly ran back to my car. I later found out that this house is apparently called "The Witch's House" by local Wacoans... so that's fun. I'm just thankful I found that out AFTER shooting there without the owners permission. I just pray that Taylor and I do not have some weird spell on us now.

The house, however creepy it was, definitely captured the vintage/romantic/old look that I was going for, and it really was an experience to shoot there. Thanks for tuning in and have a great rest of your Halloween!

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

If you've ever been on some super fun/slightly illegal/ photoshoots or have had some creepy encounters I would love to hear about them in the comments below!

Strikes My Fancy #18

Hello there and welcome to this week's Strikes My Fancy post! As always nerdy things, pretty sights, and great music await. Thanks for stopping by!

1. Rather Be (Cover)- Pentatonix

Honestly I am not a super huge fan of the original version of this song, but their version is just fantastic. Quite frankly anything that they get their hands on is fantastic. Anywho, this song is wonderful and I can't help but have a good time when I'm listening to it. ALSO MITCH'S SHIRT. He wore it for the performance I caught over the summer and it is quite literally the most flawless top ever, and he wears it like no one's business. Enjoy.

2. Cutest showdown ever is about to occur. Loving this print.

3. This list is far too accurate. I may or may not be listening to the playlist now...

4. Heh Heh.

5. Trying to throw this super cute strawberry costume together for Friday.

6. To bring a little cheer to the cooler days.

7. BRB. Heading to London

8. Because seriously...

9. He dooooo. I'm cracking up here. Laugh with me friends.

10. Incredibly true words. Mmm.

Thanks for tuning in friends! I will see you guys on HALLOWEEN for a super fun, yet terrifying shoot! Wooo! Until then.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Fly Friday: Grae From Head to Toe

All photos by Grace over at My Spare Oom

Cuff: Forever 21
Ring: Jewelmint
Lipstick: ModelCo in Kitty

Hello there and Happy Friday!

I could not be more ready for this weekend. It hasn't been a bad week or anything (quite the opposite really), I'm just excited for the events in store. Tonight I'll get to laugh till my stomach hurts while watching Guerrilla Troupe perform, and tomorrow Waco is hosting some sort of Farm Day that will have pumpkins and fall festivities, so I will be attending that as well! It should be great fun.

Today's post is titled Grae From Head to Toe, and rightly so. Literally everything that makes up this outfit, aside from the cuff and the ring, is from Grae Apparel. Now if you've been around my area of the blog world for a while you've probably heard me rave about them before, but just in case you are new I'll catch you up to speed.

Grae Apparel is a boutique within Spice Village located here in Waco, TX. They have a great mix of trendy and classic pieces for fabulous prices, however they buy in small quantity thus when you see something you like you have to get it otherwise it could be gone tomorrow. I happen to work there and it has been one of my favourite job experiences thus far. If you are in the Waco area you have to stop by, and for those of you who aren't anywhere near here, they will be opening their online site soon!

Seeing as how it is still hot here in Texas with highs in the 80's all week long, I'm still wearing skirts and these sandals like its nobody's business. This top is my favourite and I wear it more than it probably ever wanted to be worn. It is soft, casual, super comfy, and perfect. End of story. I purchased the skirt knowing that I could use it for both summer and fall. Its bright colour makes it suitable for the warmer days, but it also allows me to style is with darker colours such as black or navy for a good fall statement. Also I love pleats, so there's that.

Lately I've been all about comfy, yet cute and effortless outfits. There is honestly no better way to achieve that look than through separates. Words I thought I would never say being a dress-lover at heart, but I've found it to be true my friends. I hope this post serves your inspiration well! Until next time.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Strikes My Fancy #17

Hello there and welcome to this week's Strikes My Fancy post! Addicting music, cozy photos, and glorious gifs await.

1. Years & Years- Take Shelter

I'm going to be completely honest with y'all... The first time I heard this song I was not really into it. I was just thinking who is this 15 year-old looking kid (he is 24) singing to me in a nasally voice? Not long after though the song was stuck in my head and then I woke up once day and realized I was obsessed. ALIENS. Seriously though, this song is awesome and I hope you'll be able to put it on repeat for a week as well. Enjoy.

2. Just hanging around.

3. This pretty rad piece of art.

4. If I could just have all the cozy blankets that would be nice. Its not like I have 7 on my bed already...

5. Jonah Hill on meeting Morgan Freeman.

6. Loving this little locket.

7. Strawberry Shortcake is probably one of my favourite desserts and this vegan version looks promising.

8. The most glorious gif to ever exist.

9. Let's pretend like I'm not just now starting to get into this trend. It's finally growing on me.

10. My life motto.

Alrighty, well that is all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by to see what caught my eye this week. I will see you cool cats on Friday.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Fly Friday: Saturday is the New Friday

Top/Jeans/Booties: Forever 21
Scarf (similar): Grae Apparel
Socks/Pea Coat: Old Navy

Let's just pretend today is Friday, okay? Okay good.

I had an incredibly busy day of work and interviews so I was unable to post at my regular time. When I got home it was close to 10, so I wasn't going to bother posting then. Thanks so much for sticking around though!

On another note my interview was fantastic and I absolutely love the company. Landing this internship would be a dream, so keep me in your prayers/wishes!

I took these photos in the early am, so it was really really chilly out and that is why there is a pea coat in some of these pictures. This obviously doesn't apply to people in Texas, but those of you that live in cooler climates can run with the pea coat. I got this coat for $15 at Plato's Closet. Talk about a deal.
I've honestly been living in this sweater lately. It just looks great with everything, so I can't help but pair it with everything.

I have so much more to get done today though, so I am going to have to head out. Thank you for tuning in! I'll see you guys on Tuesday.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.
