Hello there and Happy Friday!

I am my mother's daughter in the sense that I am always on the lookout for a good deal. I recently had the pleasure of going to Waco Clothesline, a retail shop that funds Mission Waco programs, with my Visual Merchandising class. We were not supposed to be shopping, but I just couldn't help myself when I saw this darling top for just $2. I ended up walking away with 3 different tops, but this is by far my favourite score of the day. 

What sets this retail store apart from others is that all the funds go back into my community, which I think is truly marvelous. New donations are always welcomed, and of course new shoppers are too! If you have a few minutes make sure to stop by! 

In case you didn't pick up on it from the photos, I GOT NEW GLASSES. I normally do not wear my glasses in photos, but if you know me personally then you know they basically live on my face. I've always been a huge fan of Warby Parker frames and I am still absolutely in love with mine two years later, but it was time to mix things up a bit. After seeing so many of my favourite bloggers like Keiko Lynn and Rebecca of The Clothes Horse rocking Bonlook's frames I knew I had to give them a try. I'm very pleased with this company and the quality of their frames. I've gotten positive feedback, but also some very negative feedback from people. Regardless, I love them and that all that matters. If you are on the market for some rad new frames then definitely give Bonlook a try!

Strikes My Fancy #28

Hello there and happy Monday! I trust that everyone had a smashing Valentine's Day, I know I did. Jessica and I spent the weekend in San Antonio for some quality girl time with good food, piano bars, friends, and family. I was able to see my father and his girl friend, which is always a joy, and I met up with my dear friend Josh for an awesome lunch/icecream at the Historic Pearl Brewery. Later on Jessica and I discovered the joys of Local Coffee and then treated ourselves to a marvelous dinner + some wine at Maggiano's Little Italy. Needless to say, it was a perfect weekend and I wish it hadn't ended. 

Onto the outfit! Lately I've been gravitating towards soft, flowy tops and black skinnies. I enjoy the versatility that such pieces present. By simply changing the sneakers out for booties I am able to take a casual-day outfit and turn it into one that is a little more refined and suited for the evening. Simplistic + effortless outfits are my absolute favourite.

I've been writing this post for quite some time now... Always coming back to it each Tuesday and trying to add things, but always finding myself so incredibly unmotivated that I never actually hit publish. These posts are some of my favourites to write because I get to share things that I fancy with all of you, and because they don't require too much effort on my part. I don't know what was up with my inability to write these posts the past couple of weeks, but here's to breaking the Strikes My Fancy hiatus; even if it is a day late.

Sometimes Friday happens on Monday... I promise it is a thing. Anyways, sorry for not getting around to posting this past Friday. I had an incredibly busy weekend and things just sort of got away from me, but I am back!

Lately I have been all about keeping things comfy and easy-going. I've been living in my black skinnies and black sneakers. Seriously you guys, people are probably starting to think I only have one pair of jeans/shoes. It's not my fault they go with nearly everything. For once I actually decided to add a small dose of colour to my outfit with a soft pink top and a tiny green necklace. 

Texas teased us with some beautifully sunny days and that naturally inclined me to add some colour back to  my outfits. However, its back to being cold so I'm donning all black today. Just like every other day. Woo.
