Strikes My Fancy #3

Hello hello! It is that time of the week again. I have quite the assortment of things in store for you guys, so please stick around to see what gems of the interweb have caught my eye!

1. This song + video that is hot off the presses.

No seriously... this song was released today. From Indian Lakes is without a doubt one of my favourite bands. In my top 5 for sure. I've had the honor of meeting them and seeing them several times. They are a bunch of fun and down-to-earth guys. I am anxiously awaiting the release of their new album, but I suppose this will do in the meantime. Enjoy(:

2. This doormat for the days you are feeling anything less than pretty.

3. This list of John Adams' 7 greatest insults. John Adams is my spirit animal for the week.

4. This gif.

5. This list of music jokes that gave me the giggles. Can we all take a minute to appreciate #10?

6. This perfect portrait.

7. Tacos + Cilantro = Heaven. My love for tacos is eternal. This awesome vegan taco recipe fuels my love for them. It's perfect for summer... and fall, winter, and spring. Probably good for Christmas dinner too.

8. This plate set from Modcloth was made for me. Well probably not JUST for me, but whatever. It has a whale so I like it.

9. I would be lost with out Buzzfeed. Here is a list of the 20 best Tumblr posts. It's golden.

10. Last, but certainly not least: this comeback.

That is all for this week's Strikes My Fancy post! Thanks so much for stopping by. What corners of the Internet have you been loving lately?

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Fly Friday... On Saturday?

Makin' it snow.
Cardigan: Forever 21
Crop Top: American Eagle; similar here and here.
Tulle Maxi Skirt: Amelia's Fashion Exchange; similar here.
Sandals: Target
Ring: Gift
Bracelet and Necklace: Jewelmint

So I was completely under the impression that today was Friday, but as someone so graciously pointed out it is indeed not Friday, but Saturday. I spent all day yesterday at Six Flags Fiesta Texas riding roller coasters and having my heart jump up my throat on the Bahama Blaster. Seriously guys, that slide is terrifying, exhilarating, and completely worth the heart wrenching terror.

Anywho, I do apologize that it is a day late. Today I will be spending the day at the river-walk with my friend Hale and my kid brother. With all the walking that is in store I figured a breezy tulle skirt with a crop top and lightweight cardi would be perfect. I've been finding every excuse to wear this skirt since I purchased it recently. I just love it so much. Tulle is just about my favourite thing in the world. I have a lot of favourites, but oh well.

The top is actually part of an old dress that was given to me several years ago. I decided the dress needed an update, so I separated the top from the skirt. I now have a short tulle skirt and a cute white crop top. I was very pleased with how it turned out. Look for the skirt in future posts!

Thank you for stopping by! I'm off to spend some quality time with friends and family now.
Until next time.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Strikes My Fancy Tuesday #2

Hello hello! It is that time of the week again. Welcome to this week's Strikes My Fancy post. I have a lovely assortment of things in store for you guys, so please stick around to see what gems of the interweb have caught my eye!

1. Wye Oak- Civilian

This song quickly became one of my favourites after I discovered it on the Walking Dead. It is from Season 2 Episode 10, and it is played at the end when Rick and Shane are driving off into the sunset. It fit perfectly and it captured the wild look in Shane's eye that tipped us off that some major stuff was about to go down. It captured the struggle between his desires and morality. Needless to say I was hooked and after Dead, White, and Blue Weekend on AMC my love for this song was sparked once more. Enjoy its brilliance my friends.

2. Speaking of the Walking Dead...

3. These needlepoints totally get me.

4.  If only I had the patience.

5. This touching story about an elephant crying after being freed from 50 years of torture. They are truly brilliant creatures.

6.  Mycroft dealing with his diet.

7. The power of a photo is astounding. Especially this set that deals with aging and seeing the person we used to be in the mirror.

8. Me dealing with my diet.

9. This incredible list of vegan comfort foods that I want to try immediately. With all these awesome recipes I NEED to have second breakfast.

10. Lastly, this cake that fuels my love for peaches and that phrase.

As always thanks for tuning in for this week's Strikes My Fancy. You are now free to roam the wonderful place known as the Internet and find what strike your fancy as well.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Fly Fridays: Red, White, and Anchors

Dress/Shoes/Bangles/Bag: Old Navy
Rings: Charming Charlies

Well Happy Fourth of July! I hope you are enjoying your day and that you are eating plenty of good food.
I am getting cozy with AMC for the Dead, White, and Blue Weekend. Any plans that I had are now out the window... well all except for fireworks tonight. WOO!

I have an obnoxious amount of navy + red in my wardrobe, so dressing for Independence Day has been no problem for me. I think I "accidentally" wore it nearly everyday this week. I am also apparently a walking poster child for Old Navy. I'm fairly certain that half of my closet is made up of their product.

This anchor t-shirt dress is one of my favourite 'casual' dresses to throw on. I am really bad at doing casual. I have 'hobo' or super fancy with no in between, so when I find something that I can make somewhat casual I am ecstatic. As I stated last Friday this combination of colours is a classic and is perfect for any day out, even for ones that do not include fireworks.

Thank you so much for stopping by, now go enjoy the rest of America's day of Birth!

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Strikes My Fancy Tuesday

So this is a new thing to Oh My Bliss and I am super excited for it because it is the time of the week that I get to share my love of the Internet with you all! Huzzah for isolation! *ahem* I mean huzzah for totally normal and functioning social lives...

Regardless these will be brief posts about things on the interweb that struck my fancy throughout the week.

1. This song is basically the anthem of my life right now.

I'm broke, but "I'm not sinking, I'm just kicking it at sea level." This man is so incredibly talented and he has a direct link to my funny bone. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple weeks ago when I was working Warped Tour. It was magical. He was humble and just overwhelmingly awesome. You can check out more of his stuff here.

2. This powerful six word story:

3. This Shirt that I am pretty sure was made for me.

4. This magical Modcloth ode to one of my favourite sea creatures

5. These gnarly DIY bookends that I must make soon. Probably with dinos because dinosaurs.

6. This Sherlolly fan art that made me smile. Also I really dig the pink socks.

7. These Vegan Chocolate Energy Balls of deliciousness that I've made like 4 times already... I may be eating them right now. Regardless they rock. Go eat them.

8. This because I am actually so worried about it. SWEAR TO ME.

9. This playlist because let's be honest The Fault in Our Stars movie had an incredible soundtrack.

10. This picture from Saturday night when I saw PENTATONIX live in Allen, TX. It was unbelievable.

Thanks for tuning into my weekly dose of interweb lovin'.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

Long Time, No See

Hat/Top/ Bangles: Old Navy
Skirt: Modcloth (similar)
Shoes: Rue 21
Necklace: Jewelmint
Lipstick: Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte in 111
Well after a few months of absence and many a changes, I am pleased to announce that I'M BAAAACK. *cue the classic creepy screeching noise that sends shivers down the spine* You know the one. Anywho you may or may not have noticed a few changes around this little area of the blog world. First one being:
NAME CHANGE!
I know, I know, switching things up on you is not very polite, but trust me I think it is for the best. The we has gone to I (#2) and instead of Beauties, Bliss, and Bears... Oh My! I now operate under the significantly simpler name of Oh My Bliss.

#3 The blog has undergone a MAJOR facelift. I had a brilliant artist/ blogger named Sianna design my blogger banner, and I must say she did a smashing job.

#4 Fly Fridays, yes you read me correctly, Fly Fridays are to become a thing. This will be the day that I share my outfit posts with you lovely humans, and it should help me post regularly as well. I am completely aware that I am about the least fly person on this earth, but hey let me dream.

#5 Lastly I have a new resident photographer. Her name is Taylor and she is an awesome California kid. I'm excited to get to work with her more and to get more comfortable taking pictures with her!

On to the outfit. This particular photo shoot ended up getting plastered all over this blog: blogger banner, the 'about the blog' blurb photo, and it even makes an appearance in the meet the writer section as well. It is everywhere. I feel sorry for my poor Instagram followers; they've seen quite a few shots from it.

Regardless I absolutely love this outfit. I'm a sucker for anything that features red + navy (and yes the striped top is navy, not black). I first put this little look together around Easter/ Kentucky Derby time and I felt that it was quite fitting given the circumstances.

The floppy hat even landed me a spot in one of Modcloth's blog posts!

With the Fourth of July rapidly approaching (where has the time gone?), I figured this would be the perfect time to debut this patriotic ensemble. I personally believe that it is difficult to go wrong with such classic pieces. So grab your stars and your stripes and have yourself a wonderful time next week!

Thank you so much for tuning into my 'big reveal' and for sticking around during the months the blog was under construction; it means the world to me. Y'all are the best.

Stay Golden,

xxCaitlin.

So, What's the Sitch?

In case you guys haven't noticed I have been absent from the blog world for a while. There are some reasons for this... I've been thinking, a dangerous thing to do I know, but I've been thinking that I need to step back for a while to reconfigure some things.

I created this blog with the best of intentions, but I simply had no clue what I wanted to do. I had some ideas but when people would ask me what my blog was about I would say things like "oh you know... everything." In other words, whatever I felt like writing at the time. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing it can lead to some complications when trying to be consistent in my posts. I personally do not want to keep anyone who reads this blog waiting when I cannot not adequately supply posts.

So here is the sitch. I am not closing the blog, however I am going to reevaluate where I want to take it in the future. Hopefully this will not take more than a couple months because I really do enjoy sharing my thoughts with the lovely few that choose to read this blog. I do want to apologize for not being able to carry my end of the bargain through. I will come back with a more  focused game-plan that should help me be able to post regularly.

It's been fun and I am looking forward to revealing the new and improved BBB to you all shortly.

Thank you so very much for your support and understanding. It means the world to Jessica and I.

Until next time my friends. Stay Golden,

Caitlin.
